Strong educational institutions have been built over decades.

They are shaped by people, ideas, and values that are passed from one generation to the next. This is how the institutions that are now part of IEC were formed.

KazGASA has made a significant contribution to the development of architectural and engineering education in Kazakhstan. KAU became one of the country's first universities to promote international education and a global outlook. The schools and colleges within the Group have opened new opportunities for learners by developing modern educational programmes for future generations.

Each institution developed independently, building its own history, reputation, and academic culture. Yet they were united by a shared philosophy: education should not merely transfer knowledge — it should create opportunities for the development of individuals and society.

Over time, it became clear that together these institutions could achieve more than they could individually. This led to the creation of International Educational Corporation (IEC).

1930

Digital College

Founded in 1930, Digital College is one of the oldest colleges in Kazakhstan. Evolving from a communications technical school into a modern educational institution, it has remained committed to its core mission of preparing professionals for industries that drive economic development.

In 2023, the institution was renamed Digital College, reflecting its strong focus on digital technologies, innovation, and the professions of the future.

1980

KazGASA

In 1980, the Almaty Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering was established. In 1992, it evolved into the Kazakh Leading Academy of Architecture and Civil Engineering (KazGASA).

Today, KazGASA is recognized as one of Kazakhstan's leading specialized universities in architecture, design, construction, and engineering.

1997

Kazakh American University

Founded in 1997, Kazakh American University (KAU) was established to combine the strengths of the Kazakh and American educational systems.

KAU became one of the first universities in Kazakhstan to actively introduce English-medium instruction and international dual-degree programmes.

1998

KAU School → KAIS

In 1998, KAU School was established as part of Kazakh American University, bringing together the best practices of international education while fostering global thinking and personal development.

In 2026, responding to the changing demands of an increasingly interconnected world, the school entered a new stage of development and became the Kazakh American International School (KAIS), further strengthening its international educational approach.

2000

KazGASA School

Established in 2000, KazGASA School was created to nurture creativity, individual potential, and conscious career choice from an early age.

The school provides an environment where students discover their strengths, develop creativity, initiative, and confidence, laying a strong foundation for lifelong growth.

KazGASA College

KazGASA College was established to prepare in-demand professionals capable of applying knowledge in practice and adapting quickly to the evolving needs of the modern economy.

By combining KazGASA's strong academic heritage with practice-oriented education, the College provides students with a solid foundation for professional development and lifelong learning.

2025

Charterhouse Almaty

In 2025, Charterhouse Almaty became part of the IEC educational ecosystem as the first Central Asian campus of the prestigious British school Charterhouse. Founded in 1611, Charterhouse is one of the United Kingdom's most distinguished independent schools.

This partnership marked an important milestone in IEC's international development strategy and reflects the Corporation's commitment to delivering world-class education while preserving national identity, culture, and values.

The Establishment of IEC

Nearly a century of educational expertise, academic traditions, and international experience came together within one unified educational ecosystem.
